KiAccess is a project designed to give people with disabilities the confidence and independence to use self-checkout machines. Now more than ever, there is a higher abundance and reliance on these machines that unfortunately can be an accessibility nightmare for some.

Due to the way self-checkout machines are designed they can be inaccessible and difficult to use for people with vision impairments, hearing impairments and or struggles with over stimulation.

KiAccess provides users a card and app that carries their own personalised QR code they can scan at a self-checkout to implement the accessibility settings they have chosen prior, customised to their individual needs.
